Why should I use a mascot?
Whatever product, service, or event you are promoting, the color and excitement provided by a 6-foot "fantasy-come-to-life" character is irresistable. Children and adults love them. In today's world, the public is bombarded with a multitude of messages, and it has become increasingly difficult for an organization to stand out from the crowd and be noticed. Mascots provide instant attention, recognition and fun! Mascots automatically put the spotlight on YOUR message, product, or organization. Not to mention, if you're buying a mascot for just yourself, they're pretty fun too.
What makes a MicroMascot different from other mascots?
A MicroMascot is appropriately smaller and form-fitting than a standard mascot costume, making with much easier to perform in and much less expensive.
What materials are your costumes made of?
Our mascots are made from a variety of things. Heads are either constructed from either foam or lightweight plastic (see Grades). The rest of the mascot is either constructed from faux fur or fleece fabric.
How much do I have to pay as a down payment for my mascot costume?
The down payment required varies from costume to costume, depending on how much is needed to cover the cost of materials. It is usually around 35% of the total cost, and is non-refundable.
How do I get a quote?
Fill out our order form with a description and/or concept art of your mascot. If you don't have concept art, we can give you a general quote, but we will need it for a final quote.
What's a duct tape dummy? Do I need one to order?
A duct tape dummy is a full body cast made from full-body clothing covered in duct tape. When stuffed, it provides a "copy" of yourself in our shop. One is not required to order, but if you want a form-fitting costume made to fit one performer, then it is highly recommended. You can ship them to us unstuffed.
Why doesn't MicroMascots have a catalog of costumes?
Here at MicroMascots, all of our costumes are one of a kind. For example, you wouldn't want to have a tiger mascot, only to realize that twenty other organizations have an exact replica of your costume.
How can I pay for the costume?
We accept PayPal, credit cards through PayPal, and money orders.
What is your lifetime guarantee?
MicroMascots stands behind our work. If your costume ever rips, tears, or is damaged, then we will fix it for free (you just cover shipping costs to and from our shop). However, if your costume is damaged due to negligence (ex. you jumped into a pool as a stunt, or you were doing some rough fighting in it), then repair fees will apply.
I am not comfortable cleaning my costume. Can you do it for me?
Of course! You just cover the shipping costs and a service fee.
I am allergic to latex. Do your costumes include latex products?
Some of our costume parts contain latex, but they are painted and sealed, and should not affect you. If you are still worried, we have alternatives.
Can you make us a costume of Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse or another copyrighted character?
No. MicroMascots will not create costumes of copyrighted characters unless you have written permission from the copyright holder.
What kind of concept art should I have?
We will need concept art with two or three views (whichever is more appropriate) of your character. Make sure the art is in a style you like, because that is what we will be working off of during costume construction.
Do I have to pay for my costume all at once?
No. After the initial deposit, you may pay for the rest of the costume in whatever fashion you wish. But the whole costume must be paid off before we ship it to you.
